This evening belongs to elephants and giraffesAnd golden chandeliersAnd millions of crystal beads hanging from the shopsFast cars streaking on moving highwaysRed lights with a dash of yellowGlittering backlights bouncing off metal screensReflect old faces slipping into the pastWhere they hopefully followIdeals or dreams of better tomorrowsMemories held handsAs he left behind an old handkerchiefCarefully folded alongsideA wondrous evening rising in the western skyStars and galaxiesEver in constructionRebuild themselvesIn their own new reflectionsCelebrated by vehiclesHonking amidstThe sweet steel of time, whichWould reveal unruptured joy had it been so organizedFlowing through the nooks and crannies of the immortal cityLike pomegranate seedsThis evening belongs to the old millennium
